Sheep & Lamb Breeding

Modern husbandry and sustainable herd development across Turkish farmland.

BECCE's livestock division applies contemporary animal husbandry science to sheep and lamb breeding — prioritising genetic quality, animal welfare, and sustainable pasture management. Our operations span breeding stock selection, herd health management, and the trade of quality animals for both wool and meat production.

01

Breed Selection & Genetic Improvement

The foundation of a productive flock is selecting the right breeds for your land and market. Turkey's diverse geography supports Merino for fine wool, Kıvırcık for quality meat, and Akkaraman for hardy dual-purpose production. BECCE advises on breed selection based on pasture type, climate zone, and target market — whether fine wool export, domestic meat trade, or dairy sheep for traditional cheese production. We source quality breeding rams and ewes from certified flocks.

02

Herd Health & Nutrition Management

Livestock profitability depends on low mortality, high reproduction rates, and optimal growth. BECCE implements structured vaccination programmes, parasite control protocols, and nutrition plans tailored to seasonal forage availability. We work with veterinary partners to ensure herd health records are maintained, regulatory requirements are met, and any disease event is responded to swiftly. Proper nutrition management — supplementing during winter or drought — is critical to lamb survival rates and ewe body condition at mating.

03

Sustainable Pasture & Farm Management

Overgrazing is the primary threat to long-term livestock farming viability in Turkey. BECCE promotes rotational grazing systems that allow pasture recovery, reducing soil erosion and improving forage yield year-on-year. Water management — troughs, boreholes, and gravity systems — ensures livestock welfare during summer months. We assist farm owners in creating multi-year land improvement plans that increase carrying capacity while preserving the ecological balance of their holdings.
